And it is not guaranteed that "good guys" are actually good guys at first place in addition to that even if they were, it is impossible to guarantee that they remain as good guys or they will not be replaced with baddies.

For the very slightly more technical politicians, I put together a proof of concept that shows how easy it is for bad people to build their own E2EE layer on top of a backdoored system.

This kind of law does not make it possible to decrypt messages that bad actors exchange, it only weakens security for everyone else.

@leberschnitzel But that's the thing: they would still not apply to them! At that point, they wouldn't be just another citizen. The money and status that come with the job can't be erased. Those politicians won't be affected by these laws whether they're in government or not. If there is litigation, it's mostly just for show and nothing will come off it.
