Bluesky = tons of job in the worker queue

Hello there !Friendica Support

FIY I have enabled the Bluesky plugin to help Hank (from Relatica) diagnose some issue.

The plugin is working pretty well on 2024.12, almost too well: just a word of caution, on low end systems you may have thousands jobs piling in the worker queue.

Bluesky timeline is very chatty... also, not realtime. They do a pretty good job at showing you what look like real time interaction, the propagation delay is more like in the couple of minutes range 🤔

Bye!

Ah ? two questions please: will it lighten the load on my instance ? and, I guess it's in the -dev branch, right ?
(currently the bluesky addon is v1.1 here)

It's on stable. Concerning the load I'm unsure. On my systems it doesn't make a real difference.

You just have to execute bin/jetstream.php start. The system will tell you to perform some setup. After that you execute it again and you are done. When you perform a logrotate you have to restart the daemon.

I'll have to stop importing the Bluesky timeline I think, note to self:
- RPi4 on the Fediverse timeline : ✅
- RPi4 connected to Bluesky timeline : ❌

Upgrading from a Pi4 to NUC clone?

!homelab Hello there,

I’ve been running a little army of raspberry pi and libre computer lepotato for many years now.

Sometime died of overheating, one died because the microsd card failed so hard that some kind of electrical shock took off the whole pi.

I’m looking at this trend: replace that with a single or a 2 node cluster of mini pc.

The point is I still want to consume as less electricity as possible. So low TDP CPUs <10 to 15W is my most important criteria, then 2 disk bays (don’t care about the form factor or connector).

Reading buyers comments on Amazon indicates that cheap Chinese mini pc have their ssd dying quickly, or their motherboard, or their power supply, sometimes in months, not even a year.

Would you please recommend a low power mini pc please ? It may be Chinese but from a reputable brand (which I fail to determine).

I know someone that has a Beelink mini PC and is happy with it, and I've heard some good things elsewhere too. I'm probably going to get one once my current Lenovo mini goes bad on me. They have some sub-$200 USD options that I think can fit two m.2 SSDs in them.

Upgrading from a Pi4 to NUC clone?

Update: I have borrowed a Nuc N150 from a colleague, he swapped it for a tower desktop (not powerful enough for gaming, I don’t care about gaming). I may very well end up buying it from him for cheap.

Else I have a few used Lenovo M910q with i7 in the 230€ range on eBay, that will do

!Friendica Developers !Friendica Support

Hello there,

FYI while I was working on some software catalog, fed by Wikidata.org I took a few minutes to update Friendica's page on Wikidata.

Added the protocols that Friendica can use to federate, since it is a pretty big thing. Plus a few statements.

Does everything looks right ?

(Crosspost hoping at leat one publication will reach the groups 🤞)

Get real client IPs in dockerized php-fpm Friendica deployments

!Friendica Support !Friendica Developers

Hello there, this message will probably not reach Friendi.ca groups for whatever reason... anyway, here is a PR about that thing... I really want to see real remote client's public IP address in Friendica container app image, instead of docker internal/private IP address (meaningless).

(this time cc @Tobias ... if you are admin on Friendi.ca could you tell me what's wrong with my messages delivery please ?)

I tried again just now to publish in developers group… I guess it’s a fail again , maybe it’s the message content itself.

Just posted another one, with log level = debug and a grep forums.friendi.ca on friendica.log ... nothing.

Here is the post URL

Note: I do see logs (start update ...) about this very reply and forums.friendi.ca in my log grep as I clicked preview (and send).
